_Author's Note: Here is another one shot that could go with "A Very Special Delivery" but can also be read alone. I hope you enjoy it. Let me know because I love writing these short ones as much as the larger fics. I still have a few more to post but willing to write more if you want them._

Betty slowly opened her eyes to see Daniel holding a carefully wrapped pink bundle in his arms. The jubilant gleam in his eyes was evident. Almost the same way, he looked at her on their wedding day, almost two years ago.

After 14 hours of labor, they had the perfect little package dropped right in their laps. Betty had to admit that it had been worth it.

"My little Danielle," said Daniel. Betty secretly watched them, only opening her eyes just a bit. "You belong to us. No one will ever take you away from us."

Betty felt a little sadness knowing that Daniel was talking about DJ.

"You are just perfect," Daniel stared down in amazement at the dark haired child. His eyes seemed to memorize every inch of the infant's face. "Perfect little nose…perfect little fingers…and perfect little toes. You look so much like your mother. I bet you are smart just like her too. One day, you are going to go to Harvard, just like me….that is if you want to."

Betty could hear the emotion in Daniel's voice as he talked to their little girl softly. "You can be anything you want to be. " He told his little girl. It was clear that Danielle was going to be daddy's girl from day one.

He had begun to walk towards the window away from her. Betty opened her eyes a bit more, following the pair.

"I've got so much to teach you because most people will tell you that I've been around the block a few times. " He paused. "I can assure you that your mother is the only woman that will ever hold my heart for the rest of my life though. I'm not going to be like my father….your grandfather. I'll have to tell you about him when you are older."

Betty closed her eyes tighter, as she noticed Daniel turn and come back towards her bed. "Let see what else ….oh…yeah…I think we should set up some rules, Danielle. The first one and the most important one is to stay away from men that try to charm you. They are only after…."

"Okay…maybe, that's another conversation for when you are older." He chuckled. "God…I don't know how I'm going to be able to handle it when you start dating. You can ask your mother. I'm super protective of her….I always have been even when we were best friends. "

He continued. "Just stay away from them….until you are in your late 30's and your father is too senile to know what's going on. Then you can start dating."

Daniel chuckled. "I know that seems crazy and a long time to wait but I promise you that its worth the wait. Once you find that perfect person though, your life will never be the same. I promise."

As Daniel leaned down and kissed their daughter on the forehead, a tear slid down Betty's cheek. Then, he laid the baby down in the bassinet beside her bed. His eyes focused on the baby.

There was little doubt in Betty's mind that Danielle Nicole Meade was going to be the apple of her father's eye.
